Encaustic means to burn in. The coloured wax is applied to glossy card with an iron and various effects can be achieved by a smoothing or lifting action with the iron. In the fantasy flower pics I have mixed both coloured and silver wax and used a heat gun to make the wax flow, the silver forming an edge around the petals. In the collage pics I have embedded leaves, feathers or anything interesting into the wax.
